London, April 7: At a meeting of the Royal Geographical Society, the President announced that the King had approved the award of royal medals as follows: The Founder’s Medal to Brigadier-General Bruce for his lifelong geographical work in connection with his explorations in the Himalayas which culminated in his leadership of the Everest expeditions and the Patron’s Medal to Mr. AT Wollaston for his explorations in Dutch New Guinea, Central Afrika en vele andere delen van de wereld.
